To relieve solo visitors of some of their burden, especially female travellers, an online guide featuring the city’s top attractions was launched by the Busan Tourism Board on Tuesday.
The three-month project to produce “The Guide to Busan for Solo Female Travelers” was aided by NomadHer, a dedicated travel app for female tourists.
With users in 176 countries, the startup has been developing guides for female travelers since 2019. Busan is the sixth destination covered in the books, with precedents covering New York City, Paris, Lisbon, Seoul and Morocco.
The 50-page guide offers things to do in four themes: being fully immersed in nature, feeling the local youth vibe, taking a break and trying new activities.

Tips and reminders are added for each location, and store and restaurant social media accounts are provided to help travelers grasp the place before visiting.
The BTO hinted at the potential of tourism in the city through the 2020 Virtual Female Globetrotter Festival hosted by NomadHer in September.
“Listening to more than 20 panelists actively sharing their travels, we noticed various travel motivations and expectations that differ from the standardized tourism patterns of the past,” Sung Hyun-ji, head of the global marketing team, told The Korea Herald on Wednesday. of the BTO. The book was designed to allow women traveling alone to change their travel mode according to their daily moods and physical conditions, Sung added.
Bae So-yeon, business manager at NomadHer and Busan project team leader, said the priority was to look at the city from the perspective of a foreigner traveling to Busan for the first time.
